What does being a Top Workplace, Top 5 in Customer Service and Business of Pride mean to our employees and members?

We've been recognized as a Top Workplace in St. Louis by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a Top 5 in Customer Service by the St. Louis Small Business Monthly, and Business of Pride by the St. Louis Business Journal. I firmly believe that our focus on culture first and taking care of our employees extends to our members.

Granted, a strong strategy, a supportive board, hard work, and a fantastic team are needed to succeed, but it's all for nothing unless combined with a strong culture that values people.

We've defined the culture and implemented programs and policies that walk the talk regarding our employees' work-life balance, career development, and emotional and mental health.

  • Weekly one-on-ones across the organization-including a yearly one-on-one I have with each employee
  • Professional Development Program
  • Mentoring Program
  • Job Shadowing Program
  • Evening & weekend email ban
  • Meeting-free Fridays and no meetings over the lunch hour
  • Employee Discount and Support Programs
  • Student Loan Paydown Program
  • Babies at Work to assist working parents
  • Volunteer Time Off to work in our community
  • Mental Health Days

Our programs are recognized regionally as the best in STL and nationally as industry-best, with all strategically supporting the culture we continue to build. Let's be real, though; Electro's culture isn't complete. We're getting there, sure, but what we've done so far, compared to what we're building, is like looking at the framework of an incomplete building.

The best part of it all is from here, it'll be in the hands of our employees to take that framework and create a masterpiece. Those who've bought into what we're trying to accomplish will be the ones to take us to the next level! Our culture will continue to be refined by their ideas and inspirations.

Top Workplace, Top 5 in Customer Service, and Business of Pride are huge honors for Electro, for our culture, and our team. What does it mean to me? It means we're on the right track, but I'm confident we're just beginning the journey toward something even better.

-Jim Struble, President & CEO

What it Means to Work for a Credit Union

A credit union is a member-owned financial cooperative, democratically controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and providing other financial services to its members. Credit unions are guided by 7 principles:

Credit unions are democratic
This means we are controlled by our members. The members elect a volunteer board of directors that calls the shots. So, you won’t find us flying corporate jets or handing out big bonus checks.

Credit unions are open
Anyone within a specified Field of Membership can belong to a credit union no matter their financial situation, race or gender, without discrimination.

Credit unions have better rates
Our member’s success is our success. The more people that use a credit union’s products and services, the more the credit union can give back in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, lower and fewer fees and more products. Just like karma — what goes around comes right back around.

Credit unions are independent
We are owned by members, not outside shareholders. That makes each member the boss.

Credit unions believe in financial education
We are actively involved in helping members get ahead by providing free financial education. Got a few minutes, we’ll teach you the merits of budgeting, planning for retirement or even how to balance your checkbook.

Credit unions work together
We network together with other credit unions to provide more ATM’s than the world’s largest bank. We also share 4,000 branches across the country that most any credit union member can access.

Credit unions give back
Credit union employees and volunteers everywhere participate in local events and charities. It’s just part of our DNA.

Transparency in Coverage Rule

This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
